The quartz is a mineral composed by silicon and oxygen (SiO4) that crystallises in the hexagonal system. It is a stable mineral with hardness 8 in Mohs scale. the rutile inside the crystalis composed by titanium dioxide (TiO2) and it is considerated a protogenic inclusion, this mean that the rutile crystallises before the quartz.
Since ancient times the rutiled quartz has been considered an amulet for a long life. For this reason the rutile needles was named "Venere's hair". the tradition says that this mineral give us a lot of energy and happy life. Still today the variety of the shades and compositions of crystal that we can see in rutiled quartz fascinate us.
