Quartz is part of the trigonal system, it is characterized by hexagonal-based crystals with two rhombohedrons at the base, its formation is hydrothermal, i.e. by heating and dissolution of chemical elements which crystallize in quartz.
Quartzes that have inclusions of mica and clay sometimes incorporated during the crystallization of the host mineral are called Lodolites. The clays can come in various colors depending on the chemical compositions of the deposit, the shades can vary from orange yellows and bright reds, green, pink and purple.
