Garnets include an extensive group of nesosilicates which share a chemical formula. Miscibilities can be detected between the different species. This mineral is part of the cubic system and has a hardness of 7-7.5 on the Mohs scale.
Rhodolite is an intermediate variety between pyrope and Almandine, which in fact has a vivid red color but softer, tending towards purple in some cases.
