Garnets include a large group of nesosilicates that share a chemical formula, among the different species some miscibility can be detected. This mineral is part of the cubic system and has a hardness of 7-7.5 on the Mohs scale.
Rhodolite is an intermediate variety between pyrope and Almandine, which in fact has a vivid coloration on the red color but softer, tending to purple in some cases.
