The Gem of the week: Labradorite

3897

Labradorite is a feldspar mineral that includes an anorthite percentage. The colour's range may span from a vivid blue up to green. The stone's name stems from an old Inuit's legend. As the story goes, the northern lights were trapped within the rocks of Labrador's coastside. An errant Eskimo stumbled upon these rocks and he released the lights by throwing his spear against the rocks. Though, many of these lights are still caught into the rocks and they became the fascinating Labradorite's gemstone. Lastly, even though Labradorite was discovered relatively recently, it is regarded as a powerful curative stone and it seems to stimulate magnetism.
